Celebration Events arrow_drop_down
Europe Day
Each year Europe Day is held on May 9th to celebrate the freedom, peace, and solidarity of Europe.
Music is important as a catalyst for building cultural capital within the individual student and the class collective. Through encountering and engaging with an array of music activities, we can ensure that we continue to develop future citizens
that are culturally engaged, culturally aware and culturally connected. Being culturally aware heightens student understanding of both national and international cultural identities.
With an increasingly diverse and pluralist population, this understanding of others through a cultural lens will encourage students to develop as responsible and ethical citizens.Valentine's Day

Meet the Artist arrow_drop_down
The development of creative expression in music is a central element of Junior Cycle Music, we strive to instill in students a creative disposition where they are free to experiment, allowed to take risks, and encouraged to explore new and challenging opportunities.
Students have the opportunity In their composition portfolio to celebrate their achievements as creators of music by compiling a collection of their musical ideas and creative expressions in a variety of genres and styles. This process will enable students' musical voice and identity to emerge.
Our Meet the Artist series comprises 19 musicians sharing their creative process and top tips for students starting on their own creative path. Each video is of a different length and has an accompanying classroom support for you to tweak for your classroom.
Check out our JCT Music Trailers to hear a short clip taken from each full video.
