This section contains the professional learning materials and supporting resources used during the 2022/2023 cluster CPD. The materials and resources will further support the professional learning of colleagues at school level, and of those teachers who are new or returning to the subject.
Session 1 explores the value and purpose of learning through Junior Cycle Visual Art. As there are opportunites for discussion and reflection during this session, it may be beneficial to discuss the activities and questions posed with a colleague.
During session 2, Junior Cycle Visual Art is being considered as part of a continuum of learning. The learning experienced by students during Classroom-Based Assessments is also explored. Again, it may be beneficial to discuss the activities and questions posed within this session with a colleague.
During session 3, ways of working together for a Subject Learning and Assessment Review (SLAR) meeting are considered, and a professional conversation modelled on the SLAR meeting process is explored. The focus of this conversation is on identifying subject learning within student work, while also identifying professional learning opportunities for teachers. Again, it may be beneficial to discuss the activities and questions posed within this session with a colleague.
