Wellbeing in Junior Cycle, a six-hour CPD workshop has just started being delivered as part of the Whole School Day across schools in the ETBI sector and some schools in the Community and Comprehensive sector. It will roll out to over 200 schools over the coming term.
The Learning Intentions for the day are
Establish where Wellbeing sits within the Junior Cycle Framework
Deepen our understanding of Wellbeing
Discuss our role as teachers in developing student Wellbeing
One of the interesting aspects of the day is that we ask schools to listen to their students talk about their experience of wellbeing, through capturing video footage. It is acknowledged that the wellbeing of young people is enhanced when their views and suggestions are sought and there is a meaningful response to them.
Voluntary Secondary Schools and some Community and Comprehensive schools will receive a six-hour CPD workshop on The Junior Cycle Framework: Context and Rationale starting in early 2018. They will then be offered the Wellbeing in Junior Cycle workshop in Autumn 2018.
All bookings for the Whole School Day can be made through your regional leader. Contact details here.
